Job Summary
Foster a safe, inclusive environment for groups of approximately 20 youth while planning and leading age-appropriate activities that support social-emotional learning, skill building, and creativity. Monitor student attendance and participation to ensure consistent engagement, then maintain accurate daily records and submit them. Build positive relationships with students, families, and stakeholders while collaborating with the Site Coordinator and Program Manager to plan culminating events and request program materials within budget guidelines. Comply with all safety procedures, emergency protocols, and required trainings, including participation in off-site field trips as needed. Work Monday through Friday from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM across Chatsworth, Northridge, and Porter Ranch locations, with flexibility to travel between sites and attend approximately 15 hours of professional development during weekends and intersession days.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Availability to work Monday through Friday from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM
- Willingness and ability to travel between assigned program sites as needed
- Ability to successfully pass an assessment evaluating math, reading comprehension, and spelling skills
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Child Development, Education, or a related field
- Experience working in expanded learning programs, after-school programs, or youth recreation settings
- Previous experience working with K-12 students in academic, recreational, or youth development settings

- Experience in requesting program materials in a timely manner to ensure availability and adherence to budget guidelines
- Experience in complying with all safety procedures, emergency protocols, required trainings, and certification requirements
- Experience in participating in off-site field trips as needed
- Experience in maintaining accurate student attendance records and submitting them daily
- Experience in attending required professional development and staff training sessions, totaling approximately 15 hours throughout the spring and scheduled across weekends and intersession days
- Experience in working closely with the Site Coordinator and Program Manager to fulfill assigned responsibilities and support program goals
