Job Summary
Foster a safe, inclusive environment for groups of up to 20 youth while planning and leading age-appropriate activities that support social-emotional learning, skill building, and leadership. Monitor student attendance and participation to ensure consistent engagement, maintain accurate daily records, and request program materials in line with budget guidelines. Collaborate with Site Coordinators and Community Liaisons to plan culminating events, fulfill off-site field trips, and comply with all safety protocols and emergency procedures. Work Monday through Friday from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM across multiple locations in Lennox, requiring flexibility for short-notice shifts and travel between sites. Attend required professional development totaling approximately 15 hours during intersession days.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Availability to work Monday through Friday from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM
- Willingness and ability to travel between assigned program sites as needed
- Ability to successfully pass an assessment evaluating math, reading comprehension, and spelling skills
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Child Development, Education, or a related field
- Experience working in expanded learning programs, after-school programs, or youth recreation settings
- Previous experience working with K-12 students in academic, recreational, or youth development settings
- Demonstrated ability to effectively engage and work with children and youth from diverse backgrounds
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency and a willingness to learn new systems and technology
