Job Summary
Foster a safe, inclusive environment for approximately 20 youth while planning and leading age-appropriate activities that support social-emotional learning and skill building. Monitor student attendance and participation, maintain accurate daily records, and request program materials to adhere to budget guidelines. Collaborate with the Site Coordinator and Program Manager to plan culminating events, facilitate off-site field trips, and ensure compliance with safety protocols and required trainings. Work Monday through Friday from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM across multiple LA locations, with a preference for candidates experienced in expanded learning programs and youth development settings.
Required Qualifications
- Availability Monday through Friday, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must successfully pass an assessment evaluating math, reading comprehension, and spelling skills
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
- Frequent standing is required during working hours
- Regular use of hands for various tasks, such as operating a computer and handling objects, is essential
- Frequently required to talk, hear, and reach with hands and arms
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in expanded learning programs, after-school programs, or youth recreation settings
- Associate's Degree in Child Development or a related field
- Previous experience working with K-12 students in academic, recreational, or youth development settings
- Ability to work effectively with children and youth
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency and a willingness to learn new technologies and systems
