Job Summary

Foster a safe, inclusive environment for approximately 20 students by planning age-appropriate activities that support social-emotional learning and leadership. Monitor attendance and participation while building positive relationships with students, families, and stakeholders. Collaborate with the Site Coordinator to organize culminating events and request program materials within budget guidelines. Comply with all safety protocols, emergency procedures, and required trainings, including off-site field trips. Submit accurate daily attendance records and attend approximately 15 hours of professional development across weekends and intersession days. Report to the Site Coordinator in Crenshaw/Baldwin Hills locations, with shifts running 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Availability Monday through Friday, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM
  • Must successfully pass an assessment evaluating math, reading comprehension, and spelling skills
  • Ability to work effectively with children and youth
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Frequent standing
  • Regular use of hands for various tasks, such as operating a computer and handling objects
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working in expanded learning programs, after-school programs, or youth recreation settings
  • Associate's Degree in Child Development or a related field
  • Previous experience working with K-12 students in academic, recreational, or youth development settings
