Job Summary
The After School Program Facilitator is responsible for overseeing a group of up to 20 girls, implementing engaging, hands-on activities including life skills training, homework support, and outdoor games. Key responsibilities include creating a safe and supportive environment, managing materials, establishing behavioral expectations, and maintaining open communication with parents and staff. The facilitator will also prepare lessons, participate in professional development, and cover programming in the event of an absence. The role requires an Associate Degree or equivalent education, strong facilitation and communication skills, and a commitment to working with diverse youth populations.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of child growth and development, with a focus on girls
- Committed to working with youth from a variety of demographics and communities
- Must be punctual, prepared, have a positive attitude
- Adept at using a variety of lively program techniques (brainstorming, role-playing, etc.)
- Self-directed, detail-oriented with proven written and oral communication skills
- Group facilitation skills and a commitment to developing classroom management skills
- High-energy, caring, self-starter, innovative
- Organized and able to effectively maintain information for planning and record keeping purposes
- Proficient in Google Workspace and willingness to learn Girls Inc. specific databases
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to relate effectively and work collaboratively with youth, families and professionals
- Must have a valid driver license and reliable transportation
Additional Requirements
- Must have reliable and consistent transportation to work and travel to the school site daily Monday-Friday
- Occasionally travel to Opa Locka for Facilitator Trainings
