Job Summary
After School Program Educator needed in Cambridge, MA for the 2026-2027 Discovery Club, part-time (approximately 5-20 hours/week), typically 2 p.m.–6 p.m. Provides a safe, nurturing, and engaging after-school experience for students in grades K-5, leading a variety of activities, supporting social-emotional learning and Jewish experiential learning, and ensuring compliance with Early Education & Care policies. Responsibilities include creating a welcoming, collaborative classroom environment; facilitating structured games and open-ended projects; interacting with children; coordinating with Discovery Club Leadership; attending meetings and training; completing orientation; and upholding the organization’s values. Requires CORI/SORI/fingerprinting background check, age 18+, and education/experience as outlined; pay ranges from $20-$23 per hour depending on qualifications, with starting pay determined by internal equity and qualifications. This is an in-person role in Cambridge, with a focus on creating engaging experiences and fostering a positive classroom atmosphere.
Required Qualifications
- Nine months experience working with children
- A high school diploma or equivalent and six months of experience working with children
- An associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field, plus 3 months of experience working with children
- Must pass state mandated CORI/SORI/DCF/fingerprinting background check
- Must be 18 years or older
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted at the JCC’s discretion to meet minimum criteria
