Job Summary

Lead and manage the ASAS-LA After-School All-Stars site, supervising staff and volunteers while ensuring a safe, inclusive environment for youth. Drive program attendance through recruitment and retention strategies, oversee daily operations including student registration, inventory management, and payroll processing. Assist with discipline, behavior management, and safety training, acting as a liaison between the program and school district to strengthen partnerships. Collaborate on curriculum planning, event coordination, and program evaluations, while maintaining accurate documentation and reporting to stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience working in a leadership or supervisory capacity in an afterschool, day camp, or youth-based organization
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with School District staff, public officials, private sector officials, parents, and community leaders
  • Ability to communicate (verbal and written communication) effectively in a team environment
  • Must be proficient with computer software programs (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Must have valid transportation
  • Must clear Drug Test, Tuberculosis screening and DOJ/FBI Live Scan prior to hire
  • Must have obtained high school graduate or GED and have successfully passed ASAS-LA Instructional Aide exam, have an Associates Degree or higher, or have completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education
  • Available to work evenings and weekends
  • Travel to off-site meetings, trainings, and events

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiarity with quality criteria for expanded learning programming is highly desirable
  • Experience working in ethnic and culturally diverse communities is highly desirable
  • Fluency in a language other than English is highly desirable
  • A baccalaureate degree in education, social or human services, child development, recreation, or a related field is desirable, or equivalent work experience in education, youth development, and or human services desirable
