Job Summary
Lead structured, engaging music production sessions for after-school programs focused on helping students create original music using beginner-friendly tools (BandLab, Soundtrap, GarageBand). Guide students through hands-on, project-based learning to build beats, layer sounds, and produce finished tracks. Adapt instruction for different skill levels and tech setups; foster a positive, inclusive environment; assist with basic tech setup and troubleshooting; communicate with program staff regarding attendance and session updates; support culminating projects or showcases when applicable. Qualifications include a minimum of 60 college credits (completed or in progress), experience with a DAW (BandLab, Soundtrap, GarageBand, or similar), experience working with students in schools/camps/tutoring/youth programs, strong communication and classroom management skills, and reliability/punctuality. This role is part-time and on-site at partner schools, with a compensation model of $50+ per instructional hour and ~1–4 hours per week for ~10 weeks, starting rolling based on school schedules.
