Job Summary
Conduct engaging, high-quality private music instruction for students in Kindergarten through Grade 8, developing individualized lesson plans based on age, experience, and goals. Foster a positive learning environment while communicating professionally with families regarding progress and scheduling. Maintain accurate attendance and lesson records, and encourage student participation in recitals and performance opportunities. Collaborate with Derby Academy staff to support the success of the music program. Teach weekday afternoons between 3:00 PM and 6:30 PM during the school year, earning $37.50 per 30-minute lesson.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated proficiency on your primary instrument or voice
- Ability to work effectively with children of varying ages and experience levels
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Successful completion of all required background checks prior to employment
- All candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S.A.
Desired Qualifications
- Previous teaching experience preferred (private lessons, classroom instruction, collegiate teaching, or community music programs)
- Bachelor's degree in Music, Music Education, or a related field preferred
