Job Summary
Plan and implement school-age programs in accordance with YMCA goals, coordinating activities that fit children's developmental needs. Provide leadership for staff overseeing multiple groups, supervise children to ensure health and safety, and maintain a positive, inclusive environment. Communicate with families, conduct conferences, and uphold policies related to medical situations, child abuse prevention, and emergency procedures. Maintain site cleanliness, attend required meetings and trainings, assist the supervisor during absences, and support recruitment for the Parent Advisory Group. Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- Current state approved first-aid certification
- Current state approved community CPR certification
- TB test by the Manitou method
- Immunization Records which must include, DTAP, MMR FIV shot or Waiver and TB
- School-Age programs: 12 credits in elementary education, or the educational equivalent, in courses such as recreation, physical education, education, music, art, psychology or social services
- Experience in working with children the same age as those to be supervised
Desired Qualifications
- One year of experience or more in program planning preferred
- Knowledge of culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate practices
