Job Summary
Implement course curriculum and assist with its development by working with teaching assistants to create lesson plans. Leads classes with school-age children while supervising them during transitions and overseeing teaching assistants. Requests supplies from the Site Supervisor in advance and communicates regularly about student progress. Plans, coordinates, and oversees culminating events at the end of each cycle. Requires subject-matter expertise, patience, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Scheduled from 2:30pm to 5:00PM during NYC public school sessions.
Required Qualifications
- Subject-matter expertise in a field consistent with the subject taught
- Patient, kind and friendly
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage and correct conduct and performance of adults and children
- Able to manage and give priority to multiple tasks
- Exhibits creativity and innovativeness working in a fast-paced environment
- Able to use own initiative, sound judgment, tact and diplomacy
Desired Qualifications
- University degree (preferred)
