AFTER SCHOOL EXPLORERS NURSE

Job Summary
Attend to sick and injured children, advise parents regarding illnesses, and contact families if students need to leave school or in case of medical emergencies. Maintain daily medical logs, administer medications and treatments as requested, and order supplies as needed. Serve as the first responder in emergency situations, perform first aid, and implement CPR and EpiPen training for after school staff. Review and administer forms for medical treatment authorization, provide support to staff on health matters, and communicate with the school health team regarding student concerns. Work with teachers and parents to teach health-related subjects when appropriate.
Required Qualifications
- current PA license – RN or LPN
- CPR certification
- Act 33/34 clearances
- Monday-Friday 3:00-6:00pm
- In-service Days, typically 7 per school year, 8:00am-6:00pm
- Winter & Spring Break Camps, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-6:00pm
Desired Qualifications
- three to five years of experience as a pediatric or acute care nurse
- a positive and warm bedside manner
- a demonstrated passion for working with and teaching adolescents
- superior interpersonal and communication skills
