Job Summary
Design and lead engaging, age-appropriate STEM and art projects for Pre-K through Middle School students, introducing concepts through hands-on experiments and building challenges. Build positive relationships with youth to foster a supportive environment, model curiosity and problem-solving, and actively supervise all participants to ensure safety and structured engagement. Collaborate with site directors to coordinate schedules, materials, and activity spaces while tracking attendance and responding to behavioral challenges or injuries per organizational policies. Commit to completing enrichment coach trainings throughout the school year and maintain a clean, organized activity area. Work Monday through Friday after school hours (2-6pm) across multiple locations in Westchester, adhering to uniform requirements and physical demands involving active movement and outdoor supervision.
Required Qualifications
- at least two years of prior experience teaching STEM or art to groups of students of elementary and / or middle school children
- strong interpersonal skills to relate to younger children, work with different age groups, and partner with school staff to support children's physical and emotional needs
- available to work Monday - Friday during after school hours (2-6pm) to teach STEM and / or art lessons and help children prepare for ongoing performances
- ability to reliably commute to multiple locations throughout the week to teach classes throughout Westchester
- up-to-date physical and tuberculosis test documentation
- pass Federal and NY State background checks
- willing to complete Department of Education fingerprinting prior to starting
- ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, including during outdoor activities, playground supervision, gym classes, or park-based programming
- ability to walk to and from nearby program locations or parks, sometimes several blocks, while supervising children
- ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and reach to engage with children at their level, assist with activities, or provide support as needed
- ability to climb stairs in school buildings or community facilities
- ability to lift and carry up to 25–40 pounds, including sports equipment, activity supplies, or personal belongings (weight may vary by role)
- ability to participate in active games and movement-based activities, including running, jumping, throwing, and demonstrating basic sports skills
- ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, or light rain, depending on program needs
- ability to maintain visual and auditory awareness to supervise children effectively and ensure safety in active environments
- Be prepared in proper uniform for every day of program

- Demonstrate integrity, reliability, and a strong work ethic
