Job Summary
After School Drumline Instructor needed to lead engaging, structured drumline sessions at a partner school in the Bronx. Part-time, 1–4 hours per week, 10-week programs with rolling start dates. Teach core drumline skills, including grip, posture, rhythm/timing, rudiments, sticking patterns, ensemble skills, and instrument familiarity (snare, bass, tenors/quads, cymbals as available). Responsibilities include guiding rehearsals aligned to program goals, adapting instruction to different skill levels, maintaining a safe learning environment, tracking attendance and progress, and preparing students for a culminating performance when applicable. Requirements include a minimum of 60 college credits (completed or in progress), experience in drumline/marching percussion and working with students, strong classroom management and communication skills, and reliability. This role is ideal for music educators, college students in music/percussion programs, performing musicians with drumline experience, and teaching artists who enjoy youth programs.
