Job Summary
Provide appropriate supervision and maintain a safe environment for school-age children during after-school programs. Engage participants in structured activities covering arts, STEM, literacy, and character development while assisting with homework and preparing the learning environment. Support the planning and implementation of field trips and performances, ensuring group ratios and maintaining organization of supplies. Serve as a positive role model and maintain daily communication with parents regarding student progress. Ensure all safety protocols are followed and report concerns to the immediate supervisor. This part-time role requires safety and security clearances and is based in a New York City public school.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High School Diploma
- Must have reliable communication/computer devices at home with the capacity to access the internet consistently to respond to organizational emails as well as complete training before the start of work (if needed)
- Must be able to walk up and down stairs
- Must be able to lift or move objects/materials as needed
- Must be able to report to the school and interact with staff, students, parents, and the school administration
- Must be able to obtain safety and security clearances through the Department of Education and Department of Health
