Job Summary
Provide appropriate supervision and maintain safety for school-age children during after-school programs from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Engage participants in structured activities covering arts, STEM, literacy, and physical fitness while preparing learning environments and managing supplies. Support activity specialists, facilitate field trips and performances, and ensure group ratios are met. Maintain a clean, organized space and serve as a positive role model for students with diverse needs. Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's progress and attend all required training sessions. This part-time role is based in a New York City public school and requires safety and security clearances.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High School Diploma
- Must have reliable communication/computer devices at home with the capacity to access the internet consistently to respond to organizational emails as well as complete training before the start of work (if needed)
- Must be able to walk up and down stairs
- Must be able to lift or move objects/materials as needed
- Must be able to report to the school and interact with staff, students, parents, and the school administration
- Must obtain safety and security clearances through the Department of Education and Department of Health
