Job Summary
Provide appropriate supervision and maintain a safe, positive environment for school-age children during after-school programs. Engage participants in structured activities, homework support, and field trips while preparing learning environments and managing supplies. Support Activity Specialists, ensure proper group ratios, and maintain cleanliness and organization of the facility. Serve as a positive role model, communicate regularly with parents about student progress, and attend all required training sessions. This part-time role involves working Monday through Friday from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm in person at a New York City public school, requiring safety clearances and reliable communication devices.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High School Diploma
- Must have reliable communication/computer devices at home with the capacity to access the internet consistently to respond to organizational emails as well as complete training before the start of work (if needed)
- Must be able to walk up and down stairs
- Must be able to lift or move objects/materials as needed
- Must be able to report to the school and interact with staff, students, parents, and the school administration
- Must obtain safety and security clearances through the Department of Education and Department of Health
