Job Summary
Provide appropriate supervision at all times to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of program participants while engaging them in meaningful activities, lesson plans, and special events based on arts, STEM, character development, literacy, and physical fitness. Prepare the learning environment and necessary supplies, maintain room cleanliness and organization, and support Activity Specialists with implementation. Create a strength-based, youth-focused atmosphere, serve as a positive role model, and develop positive relationships with parents through regular communication about their child's strengths and growth. Ensure groups are in ratio, attend all required training sessions, and maintain safety and security clearances through the Department of Education and Department of Health. This part-time role operates Monday through Friday from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm in person at a New York City Public School.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High School Diploma
- Must have reliable communication/computer devices at home with the capacity to access the internet consistently to respond to organizational emails as well as complete training before the start of work (if needed)
- Must be able to walk up and down stairs
- Must be able to lift or move objects/materials as needed
- Must be able to report to the school and interact with staff, students, parents, and the school administration
- Must obtain safety and security clearances through the Department of Education and Department of Health
