Job Summary
Provide appropriate supervision to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of school-age children while engaging them in meaningful activities, lesson plans, and special events across arts, STEM, literacy, and character development. Prepare the learning environment and necessary supplies, maintain room cleanliness, and support Activity Specialists during implementation. Create a strength-based atmosphere, serve as a positive role model, and develop relationships with parents through regular communication about student growth. Ensure group ratios are met and keep the immediate supervisor informed of any concerns. This part-time role involves working Monday through Friday from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm in a New York City public school setting with safety and security clearances required.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High School Diploma
- Must have reliable communication/computer devices at home with the capacity to access the internet consistently to respond to organizational emails as well as complete training before the start of work (if needed)
- Must be able to walk up and down stairs
- Must be able to lift or move objects/materials as needed
- Must be able to report to the school and interact with staff, students, parents, and the school administration
- Must obtain safety and security clearances through the Department of Education and Department of Health
