Job Summary
Create and implement engaging, hands-on culinary programming for K-5 students across an 8-week enrichment quarter. Develop weekly lesson plans, ingredient lists, and age-appropriate recipes that teach cooking techniques, safety, and cultural traditions while adapting to dietary restrictions and neurodiverse needs. Facilitate 45-minute classes for groups up to 12 students, maintaining a clean, sanitary kitchen environment and managing inventory within budget. Supervise student activities closely, model professional behavior, and collaborate with program staff to ensure inclusive, safe learning experiences. Work 3:30–5:30 p.m. two days per week, committing to the program year from September 2026 through June 2027.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with elementary school-aged children
- Professional experience in culinary arts, cooking instruction, food service, or a related field
- Knowledge of food safety, kitchen sanitation practices, and allergy awareness
- Excellent organizational and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interact with children and colleagues from diverse cultural and social backgrounds
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Availability to work from 3:30–5:30 p.m. at least two day per week
- Availability to commit to at least the first half of the After School programmatic year, which runs from September 14th, 2026, through January 22nd, 2027 and January 25th - June 4th, 2027
