Job Summary
Lead after-school cooking classes for elementary students (K-4) while teaching nutrition basics, food safety, and cultural concepts through fun, hands-on recipes. Introduce cutting and measuring techniques, manage large group dynamics, and purchase groceries for each session based on provided plans. Work weekly on Tuesdays for an 8-week session starting September 14th at Santa Catalina School in Monterey, California. Classes run for one hour with preparation and cleanup included in the $60–$80 per class rate. Candidates must be at least 18 years old, possess reliable transportation, and demonstrate effective classroom management skills.
Required Qualifications
- Age Requirement: Candidates must be at least 18 years of age at the time of hire to meet school partnership regulations.
- Ability to stand and move throughout a classroom setting during program instruction.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and kneel as needed during program setup, instruction, and cleanup.
- Ability to regularly lift, carry, and transport program materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to load and unload program supplies from a vehicle, as applicable.
- Ability to travel to assigned program locations.
- Punctuality and reliability, with access to a reliable form of transportation.
