Job Summary
Provide continuous supervision and interaction with children, planning and participating in daily activities for small groups. Assist students with hygiene needs, assignments, and activities while distributing snacks and supplies. Coordinate planned activities as determined by the site supervisor and refer serious discipline problems to them. Arrive promptly, remain for the specified time, and attend all staff meetings and training sessions. Physically capable of lifting 40 lbs and maintaining active engagement in a school or classroom environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Possess good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and parents of students in the program
- Possess knowledge of the physical, mental, and emotional development of young children
- Certification in Red Cross first aid and CPR/AED
- Have a positive attitude toward working with young children
- Physically capable of lifting 40 lbs
- Sufficiently mobile to ensure the safety of students and to participate in activities
- Able to be active for an extended period of time
- Able to hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone
