Job Summary
Provide continuous supervision and interaction with children while planning and participating in daily activities for small groups. Assist students with hygiene needs, assignments, and activities, and coordinate planned activities as determined by the site supervisor. Distribute snacks and supplies, refer serious discipline problems to the supervisor, and attend all staff meetings and training sessions. Maintain constant supervision to ensure students are never left unattended, adhering to a schedule designated by school administration. Perform any other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Possess good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and parents of students in the program
- Possess knowledge of the physical, mental, and emotional development of young children
- Certification in Red Cross first aid and CPR/AED
- Have a positive attitude toward working with young children
- Physically capable of lifting 40 lbs
- Sufficiently mobile to ensure the safety of students and to participate in activities
- Able to be active for an extended period of time
- Able to hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone
