Job Summary

Create and facilitate engaging 45-minute weekly chess classes for groups of up to 18 elementary students, designing progressive lessons that build strategic thinking and sportsmanship over an 8-week quarter. Submit weekly lesson plans to the Program Manager, differentiate instruction for neurodiverse learners, and incorporate seasonal themes rooted in Jewish sensibilities. Teach fundamentals including piece movement, tactics, and notation while maintaining a clean, organized classroom environment and managing chess equipment inventory. Supervise students during all activities, communicate regularly regarding progress, and model professional behavior within the After School Program's restorative approach. Work from 3:30–5:30 p.m. at least one day per week, committing to the program year from September 2026 through June 2027.
