Job Summary
Supervise students in the school's extended care program, ensuring safety and modeling Catholic Gospel values. Prepare daily materials, assist children with meals and activities, and maintain a clean, safe environment. Communicate with parents, manage group dynamics, and report incidents to the site coordinator. Adhere to safety protocols, confidentiality policies, and the Code of Conduct while participating in staff meetings. Maintain daily attendance records and submit required documents.
Required Qualifications
- High Diploma with demonstrated relevant equivalent experience in working with school-age children and/or youth development
- At least 18 years of age
- Reliable transportation
- Valid driver license
- Valid vehicle insurance
- Must pass archdiocesan Safe Environment Requirements and background screening
- Must pass Texas DPS Fingerprint-based Applicant Clearinghouse screening
- Understand and apply basic child and adolescent development principles
- Communicate and develop positive relationships with youth
- Adapt, facilitate and evaluate age-appropriate activities with and for the group
- Involve and empower youth
- Identify potential risk factors (in a program environment) and take measures to reduce risk
- Care for, involve and work with families and community
- Work as part of a team and shows professionalism
- Demonstrate the attributes and qualities of a positive role model
- Interact with and relate to youth in ways that support asset building
- Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team
- Must have good written and verbal skills
- Must have good critical thinking and problem-solving skills
