Job Summary
Oversee student safety and well-being during afterschool hours while planning and facilitating age-appropriate activities, games, and crafts. Assist students with homework assignments, manage snack time in compliance with school policies, and maintain a clean, organized care area. Integrate Christian values into daily interactions and communicate student progress to parents, teachers, and administration. This part-time role runs Monday through Friday from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm at Midland Christian School, supporting the school's mission to Live for God, Love like Jesus, and Learn for Life.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous experience working in a leadership role within an educational or childcare setting
- Strong understanding of Christian principles and a commitment to integrating them into program activities and interactions
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Whole-heartedly agrees with the school's Statement of Faith and vision to Live for God, Love like Jesus, and Learn for Life
- Consistently demonstrates enthusiasm, courtesy, flexibility, integrity, gratitude, kindness, self-control, perseverance, and punctuality
- Embodies a Christ-like attitude in all aspects of his/her work
- Is a baptized believer who is a devoted disciple of Jesus Christ
- Believes that the Bible is God's Word and standard for faith and daily living
- Models Christ-likeness in attitude, speech, and actions toward others
- Is an active member of a local Christ centered community of faith
- Reflects the vision of the school, which is to Live for God, Love like Jesus, and Learn for Life
- Maintains a personal appearance that is a Christian role model of cleanliness, modesty, and good taste, and that is in agreement with any applicable school policy
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience working with young children, preferably in a preschool or early childhood education setting
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
