Job Summary
Supervise day-to-day activities for students in the Bengal Cub Club and Homework Hangout programs while ensuring their safety and supporting appropriate behavior. Assist with behavior management, collaborate with staff for smooth operations, and help students with homework and educational needs. Work with parents and teachers to ensure a positive experience and attend required meetings or events. Perform other duties as assigned, including participating in safety drills and providing basic first aid. This role models respect, kindness, integrity, and responsibility within a 10-month, part-time position with a flexible Monday-Friday schedule.
Required Qualifications
- High School degree
- Must be able to assist the children in toileting, hand washing, nose-blowing, etc.
- Must be able to move quickly and frequently from standing to sitting with ease
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to sit on small chairs and the floor
- Must be able to traverse the classroom and adjust one's tone and height, by bending or leaning, in order to teach each child
- Must be able to provide adequate supervision indoors and outdoors
- Must be able to ensure the safety of students during drills and emergencies that may arise from time to time
- Must be able to participate in regular safety drills
- Must be able to learn CPR
- Must be able to learn how to apply a tourniquet
- Must be able to provide basic first aid
- Must be able to administer epi-pens when needed
- Must be able to support other student-specific health-related needs
