Job Summary
Plan and implement activities promoting cognitive, social/emotional, language, physical, and self-help growth in a positive environment. Maintain a safe environment for children aged 14-17 while applying child development principles. Use a positive, preventative approach to discipline through redirection, setting limits, and encouraging problem-solving. Supervise and interact during activities, sanitize toys regularly, and model healthy handling of anger and frustration. Effectively communicate with parents, maintain confidentiality, and foster teamwork with staff. Work 2:45pm to 6:00pm at Holy Spirit Elementary with base pay of $15.05/hr.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to comprehend policies, procedures and guidelines
- Mobility required
- Must be able to operate all equipment utilized in a childcare center
Desired Qualifications
- Previous child care experience preferred but not required
- Strong interpersonal skills beneficial
- High energy, flexible, and adaptable
