Job Summary

Assist with the implementation and delivery of licensed after school programming for Kindergarten to Grade 5, ensuring participants remain engaged, safe, and provided developmentally appropriate activities. Manage daily classroom preparation, execute planned programs, and facilitate behavior guidance during play. Assist with the pickup of children from school via bus or on foot, while collaborating with the After School Care Leader on care, support, and behavior management. Ensure equipment and spaces are safe and sanitary before and after sessions, adhering to Ministry licensing requirements. Act as a liaison between the public and the Capital Regional District, providing clear communication with parents and caregivers.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be at least 19 years of age
  • Experience leading and activity planning programs for school age children
  • A minimum of 20 hours of education, workshops or professional development in health, recreation, child studies or equivalent
  • Familiarity with Ministry of Children and Family Development licensing regulations
  • Physically and psychologically capable of performing the duties of the role
  • Excellent verbal and written communications, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • High School Graduation
  • Some directly related experience
  • Acceptable criminal record check
  • Emergency First Aid and CPR-C
