Job Summary
Create and facilitate engaging 45-minute weekly art classes for groups of up to 18 elementary students, designing progressive lessons that build skills over an 8-week quarter. Submit weekly lesson plans and supply lists to the Program Manager using provided templates. Teach a variety of visual art techniques including drawing, painting, sculpture, 3D art, collage, mixed media, and crafting while incorporating seasonal themes rooted in Jewish sensibilities. Maintain a clean, organized classroom and manage art supply inventory within budget constraints. Supervise students to ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. Work from 3:30–5:30 p.m. at least two days per week, committing to the program year from September 14th, 2026, through June 4th, 2027.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with elementary school-aged children
- Professional experience in visual arts, art education, fine arts, design, illustration, crafting, or a related field
- Excellent organizational and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interact with children and colleagues from diverse cultural and social backgrounds
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Availability to work from 3:30–5:30 p.m. at least two days per week
- Availability to commit to at least the first half of the After School programmatic year, which runs from September 14th, 2026, through January 22nd, 2027 and January 25th - June 4th, 2027
