Job Summary
Oversee daily operations of SDSM and After Paint production areas, ensuring schedules align with customer demand while monitoring workflow, labor utilization, and equipment performance. Identify and resolve production bottlenecks, downtime, and quality issues by partnering with Quality Assurance to address defects and enforce standardized work practices. Promote a strong safety culture through regular audits, training, and incident investigations while driving lean manufacturing initiatives like 5S and Kaizen to reduce waste. Lead and develop supervisors and hourly employees, manage labor and operating costs within budget targets, and track key performance indicators including first-pass yield and on-time delivery. Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in finishing, after-paint, detailing, or similar production processes
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
- Experience in automotive, aerospace, or industrial manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with SDSM, paint finishing, or surface preparation processes
- Six Sigma or Lean certification
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb frequently
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs with assistance
- Ability to push or pull equipment
- Ability to use tools
- Ability to operate a computer
- Ability to drive to job sites
- Ability to work in dusty, noisy, and varying weather conditions
