Job Summary
Conduct emergency on-site assessments of clients to determine the need for inpatient psychiatric hospitalization, assessing for inpatient mental health hospitalization. Provide crisis intervention services in person or by telephone to police, school, hospital personnel, and community residents, including referrals and diagnostic assessment. Assess and stabilize high-risk individuals and families while completing required documentation in accordance with policies. Participate in on-call shifts with a 60-minute response requirement, traveling to community-based interventions and four specific emergency rooms. Maintain records, complete departmental meetings and training, and meet monthly with supervisors to discuss crisis situations.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy or related degree
- Related experience with work with adults, children and adolescents
- Related experience with crisis intervention
- Related experience with assessment
- Related experience with case management
- Related experience with brief treatment
- Related experience with home and community-based interventions
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to collaborate with consumers
- Ability to collaborate with referrals sources
- Ability to collaborate with other community providers
- Must maintain a safe driving record
- Current valid Illinois Driver's License
- Personal vehicle for travel to/from community-based interventions
- Reliable transportation for responding to crisis calls in a timely manner
- Availability for the upcoming month must be submitted by the 5th of each month
- Provide 15-20 shift options
- Shift availability distributed throughout the month
- Shift availability include weekday and weekend shifts
- Required to cover at least 2 Holiday shifts per year
