Job Summary
Provide direct patient care to hospice patients in an after-hours setting (nights, weekends, holidays) on-site in Salem, OR. Administer medications and treatments per the care plan, document all observations and interventions, and communicate clearly with patients, families, and the multi-disciplinary team. Respond to emergencies with professionalism; coordinate with physicians and other nurses to enhance patient comfort and prevent complications. Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and hospice policies, protect patient confidentiality, and deliver culturally competent care. Must hold an active RN license in the state of employment and have at least two years of nursing experience; hospice/palliative care experience is preferred. Role includes a unique seven-on, seven-off schedule and requires the ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment, with strong organizational and time-management skills and proficiency in electronic health records.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in the state of employment
- Minimum of two years of nursing experience
- Experience in hospice or palliative care preferred
- Availability to work rotational shifts (nights, weekends, holidays)
- Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment
- Strong clinical nursing skills (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation)
