Job Summary

Operate Basin Disposal vehicles to complete assigned routes, collecting and transporting materials while adhering to strict safety standards and traffic regulations. Pre and post trip inspections, fuel the truck, wash the vehicle, and secure loads. Report equipment or route concerns to a Lead or Manager, and maintain a clean, hazard-free work environment. Work independently outdoors year-round, lifting up to 90 lbs as needed, and follow oral or written instructions to ensure consistent timeliness. Schedules may include holidays; drivers take 30-minute lunch breaks and 15-minute rest periods.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
  • Current DOT medical card
  • CDL qualifications maintained at all times
  • Ability to lift, push, carry and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 lbs. on a routine basis
  • Ability to lift, push, carry and pull materials and objects weighing up to 90 lbs. as needed
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach with arms and hands at or above shoulders
  • Ability to kneel and stretch
  • Ability to climb into or exit a truck and/or other equipment
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to include repetitive grasping and reaching
  • Ability to operate trucks and equipment in accordance with company procedures and standards
  • Ability to comply with all safety standards and requirements
  • Ability to report any safety or quality concerns to supervisor
  • Ability to follow oral and/or written instructions
  • Ability to observe legal and defensive driving practices
  • Ability to work independently and perform duties without close supervision
  • Ability to meet all contractual obligations for collection and disposal
  • Ability to use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to clock in at the start and end of the scheduled shift
  • Ability to report to work as scheduled
  • Ability to wear a clean employee uniform
  • Ability to make safety a priority at all times
  • Ability to be courteous with all customers, both internal and external
  • Ability to report any concerns with equipment, route(s) or customer(s) to a Lead or Manager
  • Ability to participate in on-the-job training to learn to operate other trucks and/or equipment
  • Ability to assist in mapping routes and use route books to ensure consistency and timeliness
  • Ability to continuously meet driver expectations and requirements, i.e., pre/post trip, fuel and wash truck, VIR, Customer Tags, Radio usage, and secure load

Desired Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of relevant driving or delivery experience
  • 2 years driving experience
