Job Summary
AF105W teaches writing across the disciplines in the Social Sciences and Humanities. Students attend 1.5 hours of lecture per week and 1.5 hours of tutorial; the instructor oversees initial training of Instructional Assistants on topics such as lesson planning and delivery for tutorials, providing effective feedback on written work, and using rubrics. The course aims to develop foundational descriptive and evaluative writing skills (summarizing, paraphrasing, developing arguments) and to equip students with clear, concise writing and proper grammar.
