Job Summary
Assist students with direct care and daily living activities, including toileting, hygiene, feeding, and mobility transfers. Support classroom management by maintaining student control, motivating behavior, and facilitating instructional activities and seatwork. Implement Individual Education Plan components such as behavior support plans and supervision during transitions. Collect data on behavior charts and progress monitoring, while communicating with families and staff regarding student needs. Accompany students to lunch, dismissal, field trips, and therapy sessions, ensuring adherence to confidentiality and professional boundaries throughout all school settings.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate, GED or equivalent of education and training
- Registration or Certification as required by state law and regulation
- Current CPR certification
- Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation and compliance with aide care and policies and procedures
- Basic computer skills
- Must be able to speak, write, read and understand English
- Must be able to travel to/from school/job location on a consistent and timely basis
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Must have visual and hearing acuity
- Must have strong sense of smell and touch
- Must be able to sufficiently reposition students and move equipment without assistance
- Must have sufficient strength and manual dexterity to safely operate equipment, including grasping and manipulating small objects
- Must be able to appropriately respond physically and mentally to emergency situations
- Must be able and willing to wear personal protective equipment as needed
- Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions
- Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids and infectious diseases
- Required vaccinations and testing

- Pediatric and adult experience as appropriate for the patient
