Job Summary
Assist students with direct care and daily living activities, including toileting, hygiene, feeding, and mobility transfers. Support instructional activities by prompting seatwork, simplifying instructions, and implementing Individual Education Plan goals. Maintain classroom order, collaborate with teachers on behavior management, and facilitate transitions during arrival, dismissal, and field trips. Complete required documentation, including behavior charts, daily logs, and progress monitoring. Communicate with families and administration regarding student needs while adhering to confidentiality standards. Accompany students throughout the school day and assist therapists as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate, GED or equivalent of education and training
- Registration or Certification as required by state law and regulation
- Current CPR certification
- Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation and compliance with aide care and policies and procedures
- Basic computer skills
- Must be able to speak, write, read and understand English
- Must be able to travel to/from school/job location on a consistent and timely basis
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
- Must have visual and hearing acuity
- Must have strong sense of smell and touch
- Must be able to sufficiently reposition students and move equipment without assistance
- Must have sufficient strength and manual dexterity to safely operate equipment, including grasping and manipulating small objects
- Must be able to appropriately respond physically and mentally to emergency situations
- Must be able and willing to wear personal protective equipment as needed
- Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions
- Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids and infectious diseases
- Required vaccinations and testing

- Pediatric and adult experience as appropriate for the patient
