Aerostat Operator 3/Site Lead

Job Summary
Conduct aerostat pre-launch, launch, ascent, transition, station keeping, and recovery operations in a 24/7 shift scenario. Direct and perform all electronic subsystem preflight and post-flight checks, maintain weather status, and communicate with Control Center and Government agencies. Prepare flight system weight logs, evaluate lift and purity trends, and apply advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems in electronic, power, mechanical, and hydraulic subsystems. Operate launch/recovery control systems, manage compressed-gas equipment including helium transfers, and perform corrective and preventive maintenance on telemetry, control, tether, and payload subsystems. Train and certify personnel in system procedures while exercising independent judgment for circuit analysis and signal tracing.
Required Qualifications
- GED or High School Diploma
- 5 Years' direct experience with Aerostat related systems
- Associate and Bachelor of Science degree in any technical discipline
- Aerostat Flight Director Certification
- Valid U.S. Driver's license
- Ability to understand, speak, read, and write English fluently
- Willingness to work in a 24/7 shift scenario
- Proof of U.S. residency
- Ability to carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to climb ladders
- Ability to work from elevated platforms of 8 feet or higher
- Ability to work in narrow and confined spaces under elevated temperatures
- Successfully completed Background Investigation with a Favorable Suitability Determination
- Issuance of DHS Suitability determination
Additional Requirements
- Must be willing to work in a 24/7 shift scenario and be assigned to various shifts as required to meet mission requirements
