Aerospace Tool Assembler - Night Shift

Job Summary
Read blueprints and job order specifications to assemble aerospace components accurately using hand and power tools. Inspect connections, fasten parts, and verify conformance to standards through visual examination and measuring equipment. Adjust, repair, or replace defective parts, and clean surfaces of foreign matter. Rotate through multiple stations on a night shift to maintain alertness. Perform other duties as assigned in a high-volume production environment. This role requires a high school diploma, six months of related experience, and may require a government security clearance. Night shift premium applies.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Six months to one-year related experience and/or training
- Must be able to work 4:30pm – 1:30am along with any required overtime which may include weekends
- Night shift premium offered ($2/hr)
- Reads and understands blueprints, schematics, and/or measuring devices
- Follows processes and standard procedures
- Uses hand tools and power tools
- Work in a high energy, high volume, rapidly changing environment
- Displays a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments in a timely manner
- Achieves thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task through concern for all the areas involved
- Clear and effective communication skills in both written and spoken forms
- Understands how to use the computers, including such tasks as turning the computer on and off, locating and opening files, navigate to websites, perform searches, and download files
- Easy to approach and can build constructive and effective relationships
- Analyzes and diagnoses problems and works independently to solve them
- Works collaboratively and build strategic relations with colleagues, coworkers, and contractors
- Works effectively with different levels of management, team members and customers
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Knowledge of jig and fixture building, tool and die making, machine shop theory & practice
- Operate a motor vehicle and/or heavy equipment
- Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms
- Medium work that includes moving objects up to 50 pounds
- Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another
- Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling
- Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping
- Read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
- Visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and operation of machines
- This position may require a government security clearance
