Job Summary
Aerospace Quality Engineer- Level 1 responsible for evaluating supplier manufacturing capabilities, establishing part quality evaluation plans from material requests through receipt, and ensuring corrective actions for non-conformance. Role emphasizes supplier quality assurance across design through production, including evaluation of manufacturing functions, inspection processes, and statistical analysis to ensure compliance with standards. Involvement in QMS audits, RCCA/ CAPA, FMEA, process improvements, lean/ Six Sigma methodologies, and hands-on mechanical/assembly/system knowledge. Requires strong interpersonal skills to manage supplier quality across programs and a willingness to travel; expected hours typically Monday–Friday with potential overtime. Salary range $35-$43/hour; benefits include healthcare and 401k; US citizenship may be required for defense contracts.
Required Qualifications
- High School or GED (required)
- Bachelor's degree preferred in a technical discipline (preferred)
- 3-5 years LEAN Manufacturing application experience
- 3-5 years experience in Quality Engineering (FMEA, SPC, RCCA, Process Control, Product Evaluation and Auditing)
- 2-3 years with ISO9100/AS9100 QMS
- 2-3 years with Aircraft Parts and Material Conformity Inspections
- 3-5 years FAI experience with AS9102
- 3-5 years knowledge of inspection methods and GD&T
- 3-5 years experience with IPC-610, J-Std-1000
- Airframe experience required
- AVMS electronic experience required
- Strong English communication skills
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed
- US citizenship may be required for certain defense contracts
