Job Summary
Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures while ensuring work aligns with relevant codes. Interpret electrical diagrams, controls drawings, and safety manuals to wire mechanical assemblies and troubleshoot issues across supply components, control circuits, rotating equipment, and electrical distribution systems. Diagnose faults, adjust breakers and relays, perform high-voltage connections, and execute special soldering for miniature connectors. Review layouts, collect cable lengths, and support tool sequencing and cycle time adjustments. Adhere to quality systems and continuous improvement initiatives while reporting findings. This role operates in a high-energy, high-volume environment with up to 20% travel, requiring a hands-on attitude and ability to work independently in production and office settings.
Required Qualifications
- Technical School or associates degree
- Two years of related experience and/or training
- Work Authorization/Security Clearance Requirements
- Reads and understands blueprints, schematics, and/or measuring devices
- Follows processes and standard procedures
- Hands on, get it done attitude
- Uses hand tools and power tools
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Knowledge of jig and fixture building, tool and die making, machine shop theory & practice
- Understand automation, controls, electronics, and electrical equipment/systems
- Understand electronics principles and design
- Understand and frequently use pneumatic hand tools
- Medium work that includes moving objects up to 50 pounds
- Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms
- Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another
- Operate a motor vehicle, forklift, and/or other heavy equipment
- Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling
- Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping
- Read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
- Visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and operation of machines
- Travel up to 20% of the time
- Standard work schedule, overtime may be necessary for meeting deadlines, required travel, and emergent conditions
