Job Summary
Aerospace Design Engineer in Herndon, VA working through CREO/SolidWorks to create complex 3-D CAD models and assemblies, draft drawings and BOMs, perform hand calculations and tolerance analyses, research materials, and assemble/test prototype hardware. Role involves selecting parts, applying engineering principles to solve problems, presenting technical information, and mentoring junior staff for more experienced candidates. Projects span aerospace applications including spacecraft and aircraft design and may involve hands-on fabrication or integration of hardware. Strong CAD skills, material selection, and prototype testing are required.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Mechanical, Aerospace or similar Engineering field
- 0-2 years of work experience with focus on design
- Experience designing and making drawings in CREO or SolidWorks
- Experience in spacecraft, aircraft, or precision design
- Machining or similar manufacturing or shop experience
- Must be a US Person (US Citizen or US Permanent Resident)
