Job Summary
Manage administrative and aeromedical case management support for HQ AFRC by receiving, tracking, and reviewing medical data to substantiate waiver grants. Update systems including AIMWTS, PEPP, and MEDXS with current case statuses, confirm data accuracy for provider adjudication, and coordinate with MAJCOMs and medical treatment facilities. Provide day-to-day advice to personnel across 69 units, process correspondence, and generate recurring reports on case metrics and physical examination statistics. Ensure timely resolution of high-interest cases while maintaining accurate documentation and workflow compliance.
Required Qualifications
- demonstrated experience processing and managing physical exams and medical standards
- experience in military medical environments (e.g., USAF PES), or through equivalent civilian aeromedical, occupational health, or disability evaluation system environments
- high level of proficiency with Air Force and DoD medical systems, including the Aeromedical Information Management Waiver Tracking System (AIMWTS), Physical Examination Processing Program (PEPP), Periodic Health Assessment (PHA) programs, Joint Legacy Viewer (JLV), and Management Internal Control Toolset (MICT)
- high level of knowledge regarding medical standards for retention, flying classes, Line of Duty (LOD) determinations, and special operational duty for the USAF
- proficiency in utilizing the Aeromedical Waiver Guide (AMWG) and the Medical Standards Directory (MSD)
- basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, disorders of human body systems, and emergency medical care procedures
- knowledge of medical terminology and International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10) coding
- ability to use medical terminology accurately when documenting cases
- excellent oral and written communication skills
- project management experience
- ability to translate and communicate complex medical/administrative instructions to service members at the member's comprehension level
- high proficiency with Portable Document Format (PDF) software
- proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
- proficient typing skills utilizing QWERTY and 9-key pads
- ability to work independently
- strong time-management and prioritization skills
- proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the English language
- exceptional customer service skills
