Job Summary
Develop and analyze mechanical systems for aircraft and spacecraft, including engines, airframes, and avionics. Conduct simulations, testing, and prototyping to validate designs and ensure they meet performance and safety requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems into larger aerospace systems. Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for potential mechanical failures. Design and oversee manufacturing and assembly processes while maintaining accurate documentation of designs, processes, and test results. Obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI DoD clearance. AEVEX supports U.S. national security missions through full-spectrum aviation and remote sensing solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks or CATIA
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
- Strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and quality control procedures
- Understanding of regulatory and industry standards, such as FAA regulations, AS9100, and ISO 9001
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- 0-3 years of experience in aerospace or a related industry
- Ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret/SCI DoD clearance
- U.S. Citizenship
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred
- Professional Engineering (PE) license is a plus
