Job Summary
Aeroacoustics Engineer Level 2/3 to develop acoustic reduction technologies for naval propulsion and power generation systems. Responsibilities include developing and integrating predictive analysis codes; building and testing physical models and verification equipment; designing, developing, and integrating acoustic solutions; conducting planning and roadmapping for novel acoustics technologies; collaborating with other disciplines to optimize integration of acoustic technologies; and enabling propulsion-system acoustics improvements for Navy surface ships and submarines. Requires US citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a DOD secret clearance; role is based in Sunnyvale, CA with travel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related STEM discipline with 2 years related experience; or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related STEM discipline with no related experience
- or PhD in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering or related STEM discipline with no related experience
- Comprehensive understanding of sound generation and acoustics transmission through space/materials
- Experience in acoustic test/measurement, data processing, and analysis
- Must be a US citizen
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD secret security clearance
