Job Summary
Conduct aerial and ground telecommunications work at construction and service sites by safely operating boom trucks, climbing poles, and installing poles, wires, and cables. Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair overhead fiber lines while reading engineering plans and adhering to separation and clearance regulations. Lead and motivate crews to meet OSHA, customer, and company safety requirements alongside daily production goals. Work full-time in an outdoor environment across all weather conditions, utilizing bucket trucks, ladders, and trenches to access installation points. Maintain detailed records of work activity and perform roadside traffic control. Requires 1+ years of utility construction experience, a driver's license, and willingness to travel.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years' experience in the utility/construction industry
- Driver's license

- Must be experienced working in a utility aerial lineman position
- Must be able to safely operate a boom truck
- Must be able to climb poles
- Must be able to utilize standard tools of the trade
- Must be able to lead and motivate crew to meet OSHA, Customer and ElectriCom safety requirements, project specifications and daily production goals
- Must be able to follow direction from Supervision
- Must be able to communicate professionally with co-workers, homeowners, and customers
- Must be willing to work both individually and in a team environment
- Must be able to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair overhead fiber lines
- Must be able to read and interpret engineering plans and specifications
- Must have understanding of separation and clearance regulations
- Must be able to install poles and place wires and cables
- Must be able to keep detailed record of work activity
- Must be able to utilize bucket trucks, crawl spaces, ladders, ceilings, tunnels, and trenches to access various installation and construction points as required
- Must be able to work aloft, either from a ladder, aerial device or by gaffing
- Must be able to climb numerous telephone poles daily, approx. 20' in height
- Must be able to lift and/or pull 100 pounds several times each day
- Must be able to endure long periods of standing, sitting or walking
- Must be able to bend, twist, squat, reach above the head several times per day
- Must be able to utilize both hands to operate hand tools and perform other duties
- Must be able to work full-time, in an outdoor environment and in all weather conditions
- Must be willing to undergo Routine Training as assigned (LMS, OSHA-10 hour, etc.)
- Must be able to perform Roadside Traffic Control
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical
