Job Summary
Install aerial cable and fiber to customer specifications, including splicing, activation, and as-built mapping. Perform maintenance and new construction tasks such as riser installation, pole transfers, tree trimming, and underground hand digging. Operate and inspect aerial bucket trucks and ladders while training and delegating duties to ground hands. Work alongside teams in all-weather conditions, including night splicing and emergency on-call rotations. Maintain a high quality of work by following safety rules and company handbook procedures. This role requires 1-2 years of cable TV field operations experience and is based in Nashville, TN with regional travel.
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in cable TV field operations including cable/fiber construction practices and technical knowledge for activation and repair of plant
- Prior experience climbing utility poles
- Comfort and proficiency working at heights, including from a bucket truck and on utility poles
- Flexibility to work on-call rotation or emergency situations when needed
- Flexibility to work beyond 40 hours per week and weekends
- Able to work in all non-climate-controlled environments and all-weather conditions except for unsafe or extreme weather conditions
- Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
- DOT Physical
Desired Qualifications
- cable/fiber construction practices and technical knowledge for activation and repair of plant preferred
- Prior experience climbing utility poles is highly preferred
