Job Summary
Set poles, install, maintain, and repair overhead power lines and associated equipment while climbing towers and operating bucket trucks. Test electrical components for proper operations, read technical plans and blueprints, and file necessary paperwork. Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and procedures, including required safety training. Maintain a valid driver's license and DOT Health Card, with a preference for a Class A CDL. Work outdoors in various weather conditions, enduring physical demands such as lifting up to 75 pounds and prolonged standing. This entry-level role offers a $25-$40 hourly rate and includes a Telecommunications Industry Registered Apprenticeship Program and a Commercial Driver's License obtainment program.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 months verifiable experience
- Valid drivers license
- Valid DOT Health Card
- Possess strong knowledge of electrical safety, safety regulations and industry standards
- Ability to communicate and listen effectively with customers, employees, etc.
- Basic knowledge of and ability to operate hand tools, equipment and vehicles in a safe manner
- Must be able to endure activity involved with the job which may include prolonged and repeated lifting, bending, crouching, climbing, kneeling, reaching, holding, standing and walking
- Must be able to work in an outdoor environment and is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
- All offers of employment are expressly contingent upon the satisfactory completion, in accordance with Company policy, of a pre-employment drug screening
