Job Summary

Assist in design of electrical projects and install electrical equipment, coordinating efforts with other workers involved in installing and maintaining components. Consult with operators, supervisors, and engineers to plan layout of equipment and resolve problems in system operation and maintenance. Determine feasibility of using standardized equipment and develop specifications, while studying blueprints, schematics, and manuals to determine installation procedures. Perform instrumentation calculations, set up parameters and limits, and modify industrial electronic devices to meet specifications. Set up and test equipment to ensure proper function, conducting scheduled preventive maintenance tasks to detect and prevent problems. Inspect components for accurate assembly and defects, advise management on hazardous operation risks, and maintain equipment logs. Examine work orders to detect equipment problems, operate equipment to demonstrate proper use, and repair, install, and adjust machines and defective components. Install coaxial or fiber optic cable, maintain spare parts inventory, and send defective units to manufacturers. Make necessary repairs quickly when breakdowns occur, test faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions, and troubleshoot problems as required. Work extended shifts, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays, adhering to the National Electric Code and Cargill safety standards. Enter notifications utilizing the maintenance computer program and complete housekeeping assignments.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be eligible to work in the united states without visa sponsorship
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must be able to perform physical job duties including bending/stooping, climbing ladders, and work in confined spaces
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Must be able to work under special work conditions, such as extreme heat or cold
  • Ability to work in elevated areas
  • Must be able to operate machinery
  • Must be able to read/write English
  • High School diploma or Equivalent
  • Basic computer skills including being able to enter and retrieve data
  • Ability to work overtime
  • Ability to work holidays, nights, weekends or different shifts
  • Must be able to perform electrical maintenance trade
  • Experience working with blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications and the mathematical knowledge required for such work
  • Must be able to operate mobile equipment
  • Must have a high degree of mechanical aptitude
  • Demonstrated ability to perform basic mathematical functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and percentages
  • Must be willing and able to work in inclement conditions and extreme temperatures
  • Must be able to work in an outdoor, and indoor plant environment
  • Must have very good time management skills with ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
  • Must have adequate transportation
  • Must have a strong commitment to safety
  • Must follow the National Electric Code; comply with state and Cargill standards
  • Must adhere to state and federal Occupational Safety and Health rules and regulations as related to plant safety
  • Must follow all Cargill safety rules and regulations, including use of proper PPE
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities
  • Install conduit and pull wire
  • Must be able to enter confined spaces under proper permit conditions and supervision

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with wiring and programing Allen Bradley Programmable Logic Controllers
  • Experience using electrical test equipment to perform analysis and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of the National Electric Code
  • Mechanical aptitude to work from all types of blueprints, maintenance manuals, and drawings
  • Apprentice, Journeyman or above license with the state of Nebraska or equivalent
  • A 2-year degree in electromechanical, electrical system, or equivalent
