Job Summary
Administer, score, and record assessments while reinforcing learning for students with IEPs or 504 plans under teacher supervision. Assist in devising instructional strategies, distribute materials, and guide independent or remedial study. Escort students between locations, manage attendance, and attend to personal needs including toileting and feeding. Observe and document behavior, maintain daily data collection, and ensure students follow routines and directions. Provide instructional support during whole-group lessons and serve as the chief student information source when the teacher is absent. Maintain confidentiality, participate in in-service training, and adhere to high ethical standards while performing duties in school or community settings.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree, or at least two years of study (60 semester hours) at an accredited institution of higher education, or by passing the ParaPro Assessment (ETS.org). The minimum passing score on this test is 456. (Para Pro Assessment valid until August 31, 2026) *New exam available starting September 1, 2025 - Passing the ParaPathways exam.
- Reading & Writing (5758): minimum passing score - 332
- Mathematics (5759): minimum passing score - 334
- History of previous job experience required.
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children is preferred
